A couple of years ago I came across this coloured clay called Fimo that you could bake in your own oven. It was a great day.
This figure is one of the rabbits from the awesome ‘Rabbits reenacting famous movies in 30 seconds’ at angryalien.
But my career of making small clay figures would not exist if it were not for my brother one day asking me if i could make the cookiemonster for him.
After this he has given me regular assignments of making clay figures out of characters from various games. One christmas I made him a ‘Raving Rabbid’ in a can of whopass. I stole the font from the champignon-can I made it of.
Last chrismas i endeavoured to make him a model of the first level of Bubble Bobble, my favourite game as I grew up. We used to play it for hours on end, having defined assignments and procedures for each of the 100 levels.
First I made the figures starring level one. They are eating coins to prevent their jaws from gliding shut before they are baked. In the background you can faintly see Bubble Bobble on a computer screen.
The frame is painted as level 1. Kudos to a friend of mine for making the pieces of wood i needed as ledges.
All done!
